The Enterprise Data Warehouse (the “EDW”) is a central repository which stores and combines data from across the University and shows trends over time. This is a technical service which provides data to users via those downstream BI tools supported under the Business Reporting and Analytics service. End users access the EDW service – that is, the data from the EDW – through the Business Reporting and Analytics service, where the standard service access and authorization procedures apply. Note that while the EDW is a single entity, it comprises several separate data domains. Thus, end users cannot request access to the EDW as a whole, but must apply on a domain-by-domain basis for access to the appropriate business area(s). With EDW data end users can create reports and dashboards to support their strategic business needs.
