The Version Control Service - GitLab is a fully supported GitLab Community Edition (CE) environment for Researchers.

The Version Control Service - GitLab allows users to store documents (source code, theses, papers, etc.). When these documents are updated with newer versions, the old versions are still kept, enabling you to revert to an older version if needed.

The service also allows for multiple people to collaborate on documents and track multiple changes by multiple people.

The service is backed up for disaster recovery purposes.

The service will initially use GitLab Community Edition software providing the standard CE features. If further features are required, then please contact the Research Services Support Team.

The service is constantly being reviewed and new features will be added in the future.
