Description

This service offers professional video production and photography to support Information Service projects and services. The service is provided by experienced members of ISG staff who have the necessary technical skills, understanding and empathy for the University students, staff, services and projects. This service will create new content for project and service communication. The service covers the entire media creation process from concept, filming, post-production and publishing.

With expertise in project and programme management, this service has the knowhow to ensure that content is correct for the communications strategy. This allows the service to provide advice and consultancy on using video and photography to meet communication needs and will direct staff and students towards other internal and external service providers where this is appropriate.

Consultation

This component will offer advice and guidance to anyone looking to produce video content.  In detail this will cover:

  • Developing content objectives and plan content distribution
  • Storyboarding (the overall message to be conveyed). For larger productions online resources can be used for example: The service uses this service https://boords.com/ .
  • Detailed production planning and scripting: this is the who says what, when and how
  • Scheduling: securing permission where required, planning set up, booking locations, kit transport.

Filming


This component will offer filming of content up to 4k, this will generally be covered by 2 people, one camera operator and one audio operator or two camera operators, depending on the scenario. In detail this will cover:

  • Filming up to 4K 
  • Secure lighting of location
  • Ensuring audio is captured at a professional standard

Post-production


This component will edit and refine all RAW footage, adding additional footage (b-roll) where suitable to product an all-round finished product. In detail this will cover:

  • Editing of RAW footage including multi-camera shots 
  • Creating unique introductions for individual productions or reusable introductions for series of content
  • Use of royalty free music to content
  • Use of B-Roll to content
  • White balance and colour correction of final production
  • Export of content in Media Hopper friendly format
  • Uploading to Media hopper or if required other electronic delivery
